The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
